FAQMarriage questions answered. When do we get our marriage license and where? You get your marriage license at the County Clerks office in the county of Michigan where you live. The cost is $20-30.00. There is a three day waiting period after you apply for your license. You will need to take your identification such as drivers license and birth certificate. If this is a second marriage, you will need to take your divorce papers with you. The license is good for thirty days after it is issued. If you live out of state, you will need to obtain your license in the Michigan county that you will be married in. What happens if you get sick and are unable to perform our ceremony? One of my associate wedding ministers that has agreed to be my back up in the event of illness or emergency, will step in for me. Do you require counseling, classes or a meeting in person? No, we do not. Do you marry people of different faiths? Yes, most of our weddings are between people of different faiths. When is the final payment due for our package? I prefer that you pay the balance from your deposit, two weeks before the ceremony. It is one less thing that you will have to worry about on your wedding day! Will you charge us a mileage charge? I include 50 miles round trip from Houghton Lake in my pricing packages. Any mileage over that may be charged .50 cents per mile |
